Stumped ?

I have a rig that is same as mine except it has a 5850.I have a problem that I have not been able to fix.The problem is with a monitor that will not work with it now.It had some problems with windows updates,I was not there but something got messed up and it wouldn't work. When I say it wouldn't work I mean it had error code 2E on the motherboard.

I took it home and hooked it up to my monitor. It had repair option which I did and then I took a bunch of updates.Everything worked fine but when I took it back same thing. He has another monitor that will also work with it.Also the monitor that won't work with it works fine on another pc.The monitor is new also.I tried cmos reset, then uninstalling CCC.I also tried uninstalling the monitor drivers and display adapter drivers.Doesn't matter if I try to boot with monitor plugged in or plugging in after boot I still get the 2E error code.

So I reformat and flash to the latest bios in case it was corrupt.Still same thing ***.This one has me stumped can anyone help with this.

Pretty sure 2E is video card error. If you can swap the video cards between the two systems and see if the problem persists. This will at least tell you if the video card is dieing.
