Computer reboots after trying to load windows

Thread Starter
Hey there OCers.
I seem to be running into problems at every turn. During my tries to get 4ghz out of the CPU in my desc, the vrms 'sploded on my motherboard due to the MSI 4+1 issue. I've since changed over to an Asus Sabertooth. Just over the last few hours I moved everything over. I applied new paste to the h50 and everything.

The BIOS loads up just fine; it tells me I have idle temps upwards Of 52c, which scares the poop out of me, but it loads. I set everything back to default settings and tried to load windows, just to feel at home again. Alas, after the Load Windows screen the computer simply reboots and reports that Wimdows was unable to load. For lack of better options I'm running Startup Repair now, in which I have little faith. Can you make any rhyme or reason out of my rotten luck?

I had a dream that someone told me to make sure I had my crossfire bridge intact, which I didn't. Unfortunately it changed nothing.
Trying to boot from windows disc now... Weirdly enough when I choose repair, the OS doesn't appear in the list. I'm wondering if it's looking at the right HDD... (there are two in there, the 1.5tb WD, which is new, and a like 500 gb one that I used to boot from but wiped almost everything from.)
I tried telling it to boot from the 1.5 and same problem.
Going to try safe mode next...

Not sure but is that new mb using AHCI mode as where your previous used IDE for Sata?

If you installed windows with Sata in IDE mode you will have to reinstall for it to boot in AHCI mode or change it in bios to IDE.

I'm sure all motherboards use IDE mode as default. Would you mind a normal repair ?(not startup repair) However it'll reset any updates you did. You should end up with all programs and files intact with a repair.

I used to repair on my XP installation once in awhile to avoid complete format+install.

I'd wipe the drive at this point if it meant a sure thing. It asked to run the repair or start normally, and upon running the repair says that this cannot be fixed automatically. Is there another form of repair I should be trying?

Well, I can't say for AMD mb's but pretty much all new Intel mb's come in AHCI mode, so that is why I thought that.

Sorry if AMD mb's are up to that yet.
