After mulling it over with some guys at work I'm thinking I'll run a checkdisk on the 1.5tb. Failing that, I'll format the smaller HDD , boot into that, save whatever essential files I'll need from the 1.5tb (Bioware save files, vintage adult material
), wipe the 1.5tb, install Windows on it, take the files I wanted from the smaller one, and then just run off of the 1.5.
I just don't really understand how it could have happened. Sure, the system came down pretty hard when the previous MB failed (crashed after an hour of Prime95) but to actually damage the particular part of a HDD that is essential to Windows and cannot be repaired. I'm just concerned that even after a wipe it'll give me the same problem and I'll be at a loss.
