Mouse Troubles, Suggestions?

Thread Starter
Well, after days of researching and checking out mice at my local Best Buy, I have been unable to find a mouse that can do what I need it to! I was looking into buying a gaming mouse for my new laptop and the only problem is finding a mouse that doesn't have sensor issues, and is capable of doing both Claw and Fingertip Grips when I need to!

I use Fingertip grip whenever I'm playing an MMO like Rift or something, but whenever I play an FPS I always find myself reverting to a Claw grip. I have used a Razer Mamba before that was my friend's but I found myself unable to claw grip it, also I never noticed any Z-tracking issues that people say is an issue with it's sensor, I don't pick up my mice very often because I use a relatively high sensitivity so I'm guessing either I just didn't notice or it doesn't matter.

I have been looking at that new Razer Imperator 4G, not because of the "6400 DPI" that doesn't matter that much, but the shape really makes me think I could fingertip or claw grip it. Unfortunately it's unavailable again and the other mouse I found which would work, the Steelseries Xai, is unavailable also! Is there any other mouse out there that has a relatively flatter body that can be both fingertip and claw gripped, and doesn't have intense sensor issues? Price doens't make too much of a deal, as I'm just stuck trying to find something that will work. I'm 6 foot, 170 lb's so my hands are about average size and my hands are about 11cm wide (including thumb) and 17.5 cm long so my hands are basically average.

Is there ANY mouse out there that's available and could meet these specs???

Edit: I thought I palmed mice in MMO's/Desktop. Turns out it's more of a fingertip grip! That's makes it easier.

Logitech G9x could be a good option. If the imperator isnt avaliable, a better, cheaper version would be the logitech G500 - more features and no glossy plastic.

Also take a look at Roccat Kone[+]. Its a big mouse, but you can use any 3 grips on it.

Have you tried a Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical? It seems to have the shape you want and tracks well (no prediction or acceleration). Best of all, it shouldn't run you more than 10 bucks. Remember to overclock the usb polling rate to 500 hertz though to increase the perfect control speed to 1.5 m/s.

Other mice to try are the Zowie Mico (small, 1800 DPI is bugged, has minimal prediction, probably not good for claw) and CM Spawn (not sure how it would work for finger grip and people have claimed it has a low perfect control speed).

Zowie EC2, CM storm spawn (pure claw grip), A4tech x710 would be my suggestions

I thought that X710 was a palm grip mouse? Or isn't it?

Actually yeah, it's more of a palm grip. A comfortable palm grip that is.

Just tested fingertip grip on my Kone[+]. Feels actually very good. (fairly big mouse)

Zowie MiCO is made for claw and fingertip grip so that might be a good choice also. (small mouse)
