Just go with the 590, don't do SLi or anything until Kepler.

Did they come out with some new 590's that allow overclocking or are they the same old fragile ones?

Well two 560's would be slightly better in performance than one GTX 580. However your going to possibly deal with micro stutter, and higher heat temps in it's place.

My question is why move from an already powerful single card solution without the hassle when you can run 3D vision already on the one GTX 580 and run all 2D games maxed currently with the one?

I say stay put until February when Kepler makes it debut. You can re-access everything and make your decision then. The GTX 580's will go down in price further and you can SLI that for a huge increase over two 560's or make your move to Kepler.

I think your wasting your money by going two GTX 560's over your one GTX 580. You have a nice enthusiast card right now. Stick with it is my advice.

I had the same question a bit back and you can read what my results where from the thread.

GTX 560ti in SLI or one GTX 580?

Well if your sale can land you a MSI Lightning GTX 580 in it's place it's a no brainer.

I'm running an EVGA GTX 580 reference card and I hit 923Mhz core on the GTX 580 club. Pretty darn good OC on air on 1.1000v.

My 3D Mark11 Score 7167.

In the 580 Overclocking Club we have had one Lightning on air hit 1Ghz Core after that, 985Mhz core and below that 950Mhz. Under water they go higher. You can check out the link in my signature and I think you should read through it give you a great idea of the over clockability.

I don't know if it's worth all the troubles for the extra 27Mhz-77Mhz depending on the luck of your new Lightning OC, but it's worth it if you don't have to put anymore money into.

Good luck buddy. Let us know how it ended up and post back.
