Computer Not Booting After OC Attempt - Page 2

Mine only has two pins and no top...? =/

EDIT 2: Doing some more reading in the manual it seems like I can touch the two pins with a screwdriver to short them, let's give it a try.
*crosses fingers*

EDIT 3: PHEW! It booted. Thank you all for the quick responses! I'll be sure to leave rep.

EDIT 4: Well, I tried 4.0 GHz (ignoring "djk11"'s advice) and it froze at the motherboard logo screen, heh. Cleared CMOS again and just kept it at default and it gave me a "BOOTMGR missing" error, but I found the solution for that online.
glad you got it working.

Great news Keep trying to OC.

Bootmgr Missing is from BIOS resetting and probably changing your boot settings, just make sure your OS HDD is the one selected. But I'm sure you already know that by now!

A very badly set overclock will wreak all sorts of havoc on a system, including damaging the bootmgr. Data and OS corruption are always possible with bad overclock settings; hardware malfunctions and failures are also possible with really bad settings.

This is why people are advised to take a more methodical approach to overclocking; setting your BIOS willy-nilly without any kind of thought or method is an invitation for disaster to strike. Think about it: If you do things systematically, setting then testing one BIOS setting at a time, you'll know precisely which setting is at its limit, what the limit is, and therefore be able hopefully find a way around the limit. A haphazard approach leaves you nowhere, not knowing what to attack.

But now i am totally scared to overclock can u help me..
I am having FX 4100..
hello's,
please read the oc guides and have your ram under the rated speed ,you cpu/nb about 2000 give or take a 100, and your ht about the same as cpu/nb?
i have an athlon II x4 620,i ran the ram to high on auto voltage and ruined the memory controller or mobo and the ram. my other system only runs in single channel now.
i am not an expert at overclocking,so i spend a lot of time in here reading posts so i can get a good idea of what is possible before i try a setting.
another thing is to count responses,if you get 3 that say the same thing, its probberly right.smile.gif

Raj,make a thread please,loads of help round here.thumb.gif
