Computer wont start.

Hey guys, My computer wont start up. It will turn on for a couple seconds then power down and the most common message on my lcd poster says "cpu init" so I'm guessing the cpu cant start up properly. Is trying out different components the only way to figure out which component is causing it?

My overclock is disabled because of this issue.

Its not the only way but its the best lol...

And its pretty much always a trial and error deal. Try taking alternate sticks of rams out and booting up first as this error is often related to bum ram.

Maybe reseat your components (CPU, Ram, GPU) before you start getting more drastic.

have you reset CMOS. Idk if the older crosshairs have the reset CMOS button but if so push it. Other wise take the battery out and unplug the chord from PSU and hold the power button down...press it a couple times, you want all the power out of the capacitors and other components.
