No

If you want to remove thermal paste rubbing alcohol should be fine. I would personally go with some half decent paste as well when you replace it. IC Diamond is good, but it needs spreading out. Artic silver 5 is an old favorate along with MX-5

Don't cheap out and get crappy thermal paste, you'd be better off with toothpaste.

I'm not really sure i3, so don't take this the wrong way, but if I recall correctly, first aid spirits contain some oils, those oils remain on the heatsink after cleaning off the old thermal paste which id exactly what you don't want.

70-91% Rubbing Alcohol is just... rubbing alcohol, dries near instantly and leaves no residue. There are also kits like the ArctiClean by Arctic Silver that does the job extremely well too.

Some pastes you can look at with easy spreading is Arctic Cooling MX4, Gelid Extreme [my personal favorite ever since they removed the next one from existence], OCZ Freeze. Other pastes that are a bit tougher to spread but work arguably better are Shin-Etsu and IC7 Diamond.

Be warned though, IC7 does have the tendency to scratch / buff / stain your CPU, so it wont look like new after cleaning the paste off... but it does work extremely well.

not familiar with Spirit, but if it's same as alcohol then you should be ok.

I just wanted to add a new favorite of mine for thermal paste. OCZ Freeze has been awesome. Doesn't need time to cure like AS5.

And lastly, great choice on new cooler.
