Driver Install BSOD

Thread Starter
I know everyones probably fed up of answering BSOD and driver questions, but i need some help.

I decided to upgrade from my 10.4, to 11.7. So i downloaded the appropriate driver, and followed the guide on this forum to manually delete all of the ATI files. When i was installing 11.7, my screen went blank, and then it came up with BSOD. The STOP file was ati2mtag.sys.

So then i entered safe mode, downloaded 11.4, and ran driver sweeper. I then tried installing 11.4, and it finished very quickly. When i rebooted, no software was showing up, and no driver was installed. However, if i tried to install it again, it would say it was already installed. The same thing then happened to 11.6

So i thought maybe i should switch from HDMI, to VGA. I tried installing the older versions, but got the same problem. I tried installing 11.7, and i get the BSOD again. Now i cant even boot my PC, without getting BSOD. I'm currently in safe mode, and need to work out what to do.

Can someone help me please?

Is there anything important on the drive? If not just wipe and reinstall.

If there is, I'd pull the card and sweep the drivers again, make sure you get everything.

-Download the entire CCC suite, not just the display driver.
-Make sure you're downloading the appropriate version too: 32 bit / 64 bit
-Also, here's the latest driver sweeper if you don't have it:
http://phyxion.net/Driver-Sweeper/Dr...Version-3-1-0/

I've personally never had that problem before, so sorry if my answer isn't exactly what you're looking for. I just figured I'd post something because it's been an hour and nobody else has offered any suggestions.

Good luck.
