Quote:
Developer S2 Games is joining the growing free-to-play trend with its DotA-esque Heroes of Newerth. "With the transition to free-to-play we’re opening HoN up to new audiences as our players can now easily introduce the game to their friends," S2 Games CEO Marc DeForest said in a press release.

The developer promises "the game mechanics and style of play will remain intact," and detailed how the community will evolve based on today's decision.
So this is the HON I always see people talking about.
They all seem to look fairly similar...

Cool, I have a Legacy account I guess, sounds so pro

I have no clue what I am doing in HoN though, and I had to install mods so I knew my champions/turrents range, I guess I'm just to used to LoL (shame on me, but I'm gonna keep trying HoN untill I at least don't fully suck at it)

I feel sorry for anyone who paid full price for HON and still plays it. Everything sounded meh until they mention the "early access" feature that requires money to play a new hero, even for people who paid for the game and have a legacy account.

This awful company always releases their new heroes blatantly OP and follow it up with various small nerfs over the following few months. Because of this, "early access" = buying an advantage = pushing more of their population to immediately abandon the game when dota2 comes out.

i find it ironic since your av is in HoN as well. but anywyas, the 'early access' feature is to play heroes early, people with legacy accounts will eventually get the hero when it's released. Not a big deal to me in my opinion, I feel that HoN is currently growing too fast with new heroes anyways. I rather them work on balance than more characters.
