I am currently looking at the western digital scorpio black. What capacity is the fastest for it? Any other better drives?

How much space do you need and what is your budget?

I don't really care about space. I care more about speed and I don't want to buy a ssd or the hybrid seagate drive. Don't really care about price.

If you don't care about price or space and want speed.... The obvious answer is SSD. A 64GB C300 or similar would be perfect if you ask me. Lower power consumption to boot.

Edit: ...and completely silent.

If you care about speed or price.... why don't you want to buy a SSD or Momentus XT? Anything less is just slower.

What I mean about the price is that hard drive can't get that expensive so I don't have a budget for it not ssd.

I would get this 10k rpm raptor with 32mb cache.

Edit: But for $250 you can get a very nice ssd.

Another option

I don't think that's a notebook drive...

Yes you should have
Get the scorpio black then. Also, you apparently do have a budget.
