A-Series vs Sandy Bridge....

Thread Starter
Looking at building another system. It seems for a very few extra $$ the Sandy Bridge is a better set-up..........

Poor OC on the A-series.....

Do you plan to used a graphic card? Go sandy bridge.

Do you want a low consumption, small computer with a IGP that can handle game as a little htpc and you won't ever put a graphic card in it? Go A (APU).

the llano is probably not going to oc well as they are first gen, trinity i think will be more tuned to that aspect if even needed since those are ment mostly for htpc machines and budget browser and very low end gaming machines.

I'd say the opposite, they should overclock well because they are essentially a 32nm Phenom II (which are 45nm) with a gaming-capable gpu on die.

Depends on how much you want to spend dude.

Well if you want to overclock like crazy and have a discreet graphics card, and game like it's the end of the world, then sandy bridge is for you

if you want a powerful IGP for a much cheaper price and a CPU like an Athlon II (It is actually Phenom II) but 32nm and can play games at decent fps and can overclock well, then Llano is for you.
