Preview - Asrock 990FX Fatal1ty 990FX Professional - Page 40

yea I am a bit obsessed with benching tbh, I find that theres a real art to it and is a great hobby.

what makes it fun and enjoyable is the competition between others and especially when they mock you for beating you biggrin.gif

I still don't know this magic smoke you talk of... maybe PM me about it lol

I got an AMD fan mounted on the vrms at full speed constantly but Id never push over 1.6v for prime, well it struggles at 1.55v tbh and locks up all the time.

yea asrock haven't got back to me, but they didn't say no which is promising!

update: no extreme bios, but the guy was helpful and let me have something different and a few nice graphs biggrin.gif

The "magic smoke" is what you see emitted from an electrical device when you exceed it's electrical capabilities and it "goes up in smoke". wink.gif

lol that's not magic that's money burning!

That magic smoke is what makes your electronic toys work. Once you allow it to escape they no longer work. Money burns green... Throw 100 pound notes in a fire and see for yourself. biggrin.gif

I'm surprised a guy like you hasn't bought an Extreme9, Gigabyte FX-9000 series approved and a few Asus AM3+ mobos to try and get better benches. Come on man, it's only money! wink.gif

I been holding onto this fatlady thinking she has something to offer, and well my hopes are in ruins.

next is possibly a CHVF, im not a fan on gigabyte mobos and asrock extreme9 is basically a cleaned up version of this one. same oem, same caps, similar bios, same chips....

I wish I had money to burn tho biggrin.gif

although I am about to try out highest valid overclock on this mobo... drum.gif

I'd say your OC'ing results are quite good with the 990 FX Fatality. Not sure exactly what you were expecting... So if you buy a CHVF and it doesn't get the highest benchmark scores are you going to buy a Gigabyte? redface.gif BTW, Giga makes excellent mobos most of the time, especially their "Durable" series, but their Tech Support sucks IME, just like with Asus. Perhaps you should seek counseling over the benchmark addiction? wink.gif

Restored my uefi defaults before I downloaded a bios update and now I can't boot into windows. Anyone ever had this problem?

BSOD 7B?

Check boot drive and AHCI settings if so, good luck.
