Though I have no idea what I'm talking about!

470 SLI doesn't need PCIe 3.0 I don't think, so either I may grab an ivy and keep my p67 pro or I may upgrade the board and chip... though I can't see the point in that as I'd be doing a whole new build at that point for PCIe 3.0 cards from either AMD or Nvidia.

6 series chipsets (h67, p67, z68) support PCIe 2.
7 series chipsets (H77, Z75, Z77) support PCIe 3.

I'm waiting for Ivy + Z77 at the very least before I upgrade.

i fail to see the need for PCIe 3 considering we have not taped out the PCIe2 yet....

ivy bridge will be dual channel im guessing, that said, most benchmarks have shown little increase in speed when going from 1333 to 2133, even when 2600k is at high 4's, so I imagine dual channel 2133 should be good enough, even for 6 ghz ivy bridge.

We will know for sure how much more channels helps when sandy bridge e is released. If sandy bridge e quad channel shows little benefit in gaming, no one will care that ivy bridge is dual channel

I see that DDR3 2133 will be standard with up to 3000. WOW

Yeah, it kind of puts into perspective why RAM is so cheap right now.
