I'm stuck on 2.5mbps up, 1mbps down at $50 a month with Verizon DSL. It sucks so bad. Fortunately there are no caps but having such terrible speeds is really quite annoying. When I go to my girlfriend's house who has FiOS (25mbps/15mbps) I am practically in heaven hahaha. FiOS needs to hurry the heck up and come to my house. -.-

As with the cost. It is general consensus that our current backbone cannot handle the boom of shared data and streaming. The actual cost doesn't seem to factor in expansion and replacement of lines. Also there might be an issue of a data cap that the ISP has to deal with also.

Who knows without a reliable source. Not just some sensationalist news article.
Iono, everytime I tested it before it was always in the 30s just until recently when they switched my neighborhood to Xfinity. Now I'm at a consistent 20.

Problem is, where I live, our provider has no competition in the area and so they charge through the nose.

$30 a month for Unlimited with something like 3Mb/s down and .75Mb/s up.

3.5 Mbps, 250 MBs download cap.

$70 each month.

My country is one of the most expensive in terms of... well, actually, EVERYTHING.

...You don't get the 3.5 Mbps either.

HA...old news. Most of us have been taking it in the arse given the limited availability of other services. The Govt just needs to step in since they are currently reviewing ATT's cap.

Thank goodness that there's companies like Sonic.net that's trying a better approach.

Not saying I agree with the costs per service, but a lot of the time people completely disregard the fact that prices aren't imposed at the cost of current service, but also for future planning.

I still don't think the prices are fair, even for future upgrade costs.

McDonald's is not expensive here. I can't speak for China. As for sushi... well yes, you can get cheap sushi here. You can also get not so cheap sushi here, and the difference between the two is significant.

Personally, I'd eat Japanese McDonald's over the original any day of the week. Teriyaki burgers and shrimp sandwiches are awesome.

Oh, and boo to the greedy ISPs and stuff. Except apparently mine is awesome. Go me.
