GTX 590...will it be a good deal to go with it now?

ok the gtx 590 had a pretty bad start...but what abt now is all the problems solved yet?? cuz i get to see different opinions from different users....

but i do have a soft feeling for nvidia but on the other hand there is amd also i get physx,cuda,3D vision with gtx590.. have been observing the gtx590 fan club for some time now but looks like mixed bag....

so here's the pricing ...

Zotac geforce gtx590 (2,800DHS) 758$
Saphire radeon HD 6990 (3,100DHS)840$
Zotac GTX 580(2,100DHS)569$
Saphire Radeon HD 6970(1,400DHS) 379$

if i take a gtx 590 i get better room for upgrades like adding another 590 later.....same goes for 6990

cant decide yet....................

Why not get a 580 then SLI that later
I agree with the 580 and SLI later since it also has more room for clock frequency...
One is very good and if you want more performance, simply go for another... Prices are starting to drop a little and it's the fastest single GPU out now and cooler than a 480 (still hot though)...

That's one expensive GTX 580...

For $200 less I'd take the HD6970 anyday.

Yeah that was i talking abt the gtx580 price... Look the 590 is only 189$ more than the 580 which makes the 590 rather tempting...and within 6 months the 590 price will sure come down and then i can SLI them....

And yes sir i kept my eyes on the 6970

Grab 2 6970s. Their performance is very close to GTX 580 SLI but costs a lot less.

If your gonna get the A dual Gpu card than go with the 6990. It blows away the 590. Reason for this is the Core speed of the 590 had to be dropped almost 100 Mhz from the 580 to keep it stable with the power you have to through at it for it to run.

2 gtx 580 will beat 2 6970 but cost is the killer here.
2 580 $1000+
2 6970 $700 ish

I have owned both cards. I'm not disappointing with either of them.

am i the only one who's going to ask why you'd want to SLI a 590 when its a known fact that the performance to card ratio will drop dramatically after 2 GPU's.

1 card = 1x performance
2 card = 2x performance
3 card = 2.5x performance
4 card = 3x(maybe) performance

so on that note I'd find a 580 then SLI surely the temp will be lower and (i think... don't quote me on this) 2 580's will beat a 590

Yes your are correct because as I said the core speed drop on the 590. You can't give it enough power to run it like 2 580's with the right psu.
