PC Freezes sometimes

Hi everyone, I was hoping to get help with a little problem I´ve been having with my PC.
To the point: Sometimes my pc "freezes", I can still move the mouse cursor but nothing else responds. This has been happening ever since I assembled my PC (Jan 2011). It freezes randomly, sometimes after booting into windows after I type my password, other times while playing a game, most of the times while surfing the web.

Something I´ve notices is that when it freezes the HDD activity LED will stay ON all the time. If I wait a minute or so, everything goes back to normal.

At first I thought it was becaus I had an unlocked Phenom II x2, but it also happens when using only two cores. I also tried lowering the RAM frequency, my sticks are rated for 1600 CAS7, but it didnt work. I changed the SATA cable and tried various sockets on the mobo (SATA_1, SATA_2, etc).

My specs are:
Mobo: ASUS M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3
CPU: Phenom II x4 B50 @3.6Ghz
Memory: Gskill Ripjaws 2x2gb CAS7 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231303
GPU: Gtx 460 768mb
HDD: Western Digital 500gb Caviar Blue

PS: Sorry for the broken english

Already did, it didn´t freeze while using only one stick with both sticks, but I can´t be sure, when using 2 sticks sometimes the problem doesnt appear at all.

Have you run HDtune's health check/error check?

possibly causes and fix:
1)don't unlock your cores, put back to stock speed.
2)put your ram each one to each slot, then test with latest mentest86.
3)use "crystaldiskinfo" software to monitor your Hdd SMART.
4)download/install "EVGA Precision" to monitor your Gpu temp.

1) the problem happens even if only 2 cores are active with no OC
2) I will try that program
3) used HD tune and there were no problems detected, all sectors are good
4) GPU max temp is 55 C under load, the pc froze even before I bought my GPU

PS: Thanks for suggestions everyone
