Choosing gaming+music headphones

Thread Starter
I'm a bit new to the headphone business. I've been reading the Headphone guide and i've narrowed my options to some headsets. I'm mainly a power/classical metal listener (lots of treble and mids), and i plan to use them for gaming as well. Usage would be like 60% music 40% gaming. I rarely listen to bassy music. Sound card i'll be using is on my sig rig. Budget is $100 maximum ($70 and under highly recommended, but i can go over that if really needed). I plan to use them 3-5 hours a day.

Options are the following:

- New Sennheiser HD201 ($18-$20 on amazon)
- Used Sennheiser HD515/HD555 ($50-70 on OCN marketplace)

Questions:
- Which one would be better?
- Is there any difference between all three of them, specifically with the 515 and 555, price aside?
- I know there is something called "burn-in". Do i have to burn in the headphones, especially the used ones to get the highest quality?

Out of those 3, I'd go with the 555.
Yes, there should be. Check out reviews.
Not really especially considering it is used. It depends on how much the previous owner has used it.

Another vote here for the 555s. You can even mod them to 595's easily. http://www.overclock.net/sound-cards...l#post14392860
