do these mods work on the steam version?

AND

can you play online with these mods??

EDIT:I'm newb in gta modding , i just got the game 2 days ago(24% complete)

What is ENB? is it a mod like ICEenhancer and Gio's mod? And to me these screens look like they have new textures, last time I checked the iceenhancer 1.3 is not big enough to carry textures.

Hey gionight, your ENB looks absolutely stunning! I wonder which timecycle are you using? I used to play around with ENB for a while and I used DKT timecycle (Most of people use DKT's in fact). But I have to admit of all the settings I've tried and config myself, I've never seen any settings as good as the one you're showing here. Btw, seems like a lot of ppl just had no clue about ENB before Icenhancer released, so no wonder why they always think Ice = ENB, it's just funny.
In term of realism and beauty, I think yours is far more better than Ice's. I just don't like Icenhancer because it looks too...fake, like an old 3D game overwhelmed with flashy effects.
Some old shots from my latest settings, I'm gonna make a new one soon so please give me some infor about your current timecycle, I love it smile.gif Thanks i.a.

Sgrrsh26>>>>
It will be enough .
BTW I have two evga GTX 570 SC in SLI (850/1700/1950) , i7-920 at 4 Ghz, and 6gb RAM, and I can play with buttery smooth 50 fps ( cos I have to lock it at 50 refresh-rate for smother gameplay ) and 45fps with Ambient Occlusion turned on at max quality. !!!Note!!! If you are playing with SuperSampling than Ambient Occlusion only for a day use from 5AM to 10PM you can turn on/off it by pressing Shift+F10 while in game.

enri95>>>>
ENB mod was created by biggest supporter of this GREAT MODTool Boris Vorontsov,
Icenhencer is just ENB tweaked by ICE like thousands out there, nothing more nothing less, he just renamed all files from "enb" to "ice" and thats it.
It will work with steam version, you need to google how to make it 1.0.4.0, there is tons of info how to do it, and you can't play online with 1.0.4.0,

Mr.Cigar>>>>
Thx mate, It's very old Timecyc and It was almost like stock one from Rockstar when I have start doing my set , but i have tweaked it a lot and spent tweaking it for about 4-5 mouths, you can easily call it my own Timecyc.

Here is the last version of my ENB with some fixes and minor tweaking:

It actually is that way. It just takes some trial and error, you need to install things in the right order. Once you learn which mods change which files, you can very easily know which files you need to worry about recovering, rather than copying and pasting your entire stock GTA IV folder repeatedly. The usual folders that are changed are the "pc/data" and "common" folders. If you open the Icenhancer archive and look into its files, you can really easily find out which files you need to recover if you mess up. Icenhancer adds maybe 10 files to the GTA IV root folder; nearly all of them have "ice" in the filename.

Gionight, my apologies for "advertising" Icenhancer and not your ENB. Icenhancer is just the first I've tried installing so far with success. To everyone: these steps apply the same to Gionight's mod, except you don't use H1Vltg3's settings. You just extract Gionight's archive into your GTA IV folder.

Kirby, maybe add a link to this post in the OP?

"Correct" way and order to do things with Steam version:

Things to download:

1.0.4.0 downgrade archive for best compatibility and effect.
Rockstar Social Club Because it is required to start the game on 1.0.4.0.
H1Vltg3's Full Package, which includes Icenhancer plus H1Vltg3's tweaked settings.
Menu fonts because the game menu gets bugged with invisible text after installing Icenhancer.
Any other mods you want.
Spark IV to install any other mods you get.

1. Backup your entire stock 1.0.7.0 folder so that you can revert back to a completely working stock run. I like to name my backup "grand theft auto iv - stock 1.0.7.0"

2. Download the 1.0.4.0 archive, which is ~40MB, and merge all the files into your stock 1.0.7.0 folder.

3. Backup your new 1.0.4.0 folder, to make it easy to revert back if you do something wrong. I like to name my backup "grand theft auto iv - stock 1.0.4.0"

4. BEFORE INSTALLING Rockstar Social Club: Rename your 1.0.4.0 folder (not the backup, the one you're actually modding) to anything at all. I name it "grand theft auto iv modded" to avoid confusion with my backup. Install the Rockstar Social Club program and pull the files from the new GTA IV folder it creates, putting them into your renamed 1.0.4.0 folder. Delete the GTA IV folder the Social Club installation made, and rename the 1.0.4.0 folder back to normal, which is "grand theft auto iv."

5. Extract H1Vltg3's package into your 1.0.4.0 folder, and overwrite all files. Put all the files and folders in grand theft auto iv/GTA IV where your LaunchGTAIV.exe file is.

7. Sound/car mods are installed using SparkIV. Open SparkIV, find the models/vehicles file or sound/fx/resident file, import the new sound/car files, rebuild, save, and run the game. thumb.gif

Tried, and can't get it to work:(

looks like steam updates and ****s up everything.

I disable automatic updates and it still switches back:mad:

Best thing to do is close Steam when you're modding; that way if you get it working and it screws up later you KNOW it's not Steam's fault. My Steam option kept resetting itself to automatically update. If you use Xfire, close it. I had to redo my entire modding process because GTA IV crashed on startup without me ever changing anything after the game working fine and it turned out Xfire was causing the crash the entire time.
