Hi! my build:

Thread Starter
Hey all, recently about a month ago I built my first rig. I use it for watching movies, gaming and downloading stuff

I know this build can't overclock but I will be overclocking with a future build

games i play:
GuildWars (can't wait for new)
BFBC2 (yeah new one also going to be epiccc)
Rift (boring)
Rome total war
Crisis 2

Had my build about a month and bored of all the games really

specs:

Core i5 2500 3.3GHz

HD103SJ Spinpoint F3 1TB Hard Drive

Sony Optiarc AD-5260S 24x DVD±RW Optical Drive

MSI GTX 560Ti TWIN FROZR II 1GB GDDR5 Graphics Card

Asus P8H61/USB3 H61 ATX Motherboard

Corsair 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1333MHz

Coolermaster GX 550W PSU

NZXT Hush Black

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

Cable management is best i could do with that case really as there is no option for putting cables around the back behind the motherboard etc.

Originally had stock cooler but it was loud and temps went to 70 (72.5 is max I believe but wasn't happy with 70)

money stretched for this build because I wanted the 560Ti which is why I didn't get an overclock-able CPU and motherboard
Edit: thinking about it when another forum helped me with build they told me not to OC for some reason.

Plans for the future:

Get another 560Ti for SLI and of course a new motherboard to accommodate it
Build a slightly cheaper build with a i3 core and overclock
Buy a i5 2500K this time (depending on when I get it it could be a more updated one)
Get more experienced overall, Hardware and software stuff

Guys if anyone has any ideas to what games I might like, it would be good if they were more recent but not necessary.
just want a fun game I can play sometimes.

Thanks for reading, yeah went on a bit

Welcome to OCN!

Pretty nice PC you have there, even with the limitations.

If you're looking for a fun game, Just Cause 2 is a blast.

pretty sure you CAN overclock a 2500, it just has a locked multiplier which will make it difficult.

Also try TF2 and L4D, TF2 is free now and is still alrite for a multiplayer fps fix, and L4D is just freakin awsome even if no one plays it anymore

got L4D on xbox and hate it for some reason
TF2 looks exactly like Half life so why free, seems strange.

How can I overclock?! very interested!!

If you get a 2500K, you will need to get either a P67 or Z68 motherboard in order to overclock it.

Nice build overall though. I think it has a pretty good balance.

Thanks
and yeah i know it was a budget one I have now, didn't want to spend any more at the time. Trying to decide if its worth selling my mobo and CPU just for an 'K' one because it would probably be a big loss
