580 vs sli 580 vs 590?

Thread Starter
I am building a computer and I would like to know which gpu should I get? Price is not a problem.

Single 3gb 580
vs
(two) Sli 3gb 580
vs
Single 3gb 590

Which card is the best for performance, heat, and loudness? Also, can you recommend something other than those that is better? I'm using the [3-Way SLI] Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD7-B3 -- 2x Gb LAN, 4x PCI-E 2.0 x16, 6x USB 3.0 motherboard.

I'd rather get the newest card possible because it is newer tech and would likely have less problems, but people said it is slow and has graphical errors and studdering.

SLI 580 3Gb for surround.
Forget the 590.
Single 580, if you dont game above 1080.

That doesn't always mean it's better than the "old" 580.

I prefer to have two single GPU cards as in general you will have more overclockability and less headaches with the VRM issues on the 590.

I have two 580s and while they do get a bit loud I chalk it up to the top card being choked out due to the crappy PCI-e layout on my motherboard.

As a single card temps never went above 70 with a fan profile that runs 1%/1C. Wasn't that loud at that speed. Now with two cards the top one gets to 80C with the same fan profile, that's a bit loud.

I don't plan on watercooling, atleast not until I get some cash. So I'm using stock fans that come with the gpus and stock fans that come with the HAF-932.
