Seasonic, Corsair or FSP

Thread Starter
Hi all,

I'm about to upgrade my system (all of them..) include a PSU. But my choices are now down to 3 of them:

1. Seasonic X760
2. Corsair AX750
3. FSP Aurum 750

All modular, but FSP Aurum is the cheapest of them all. I know Seasonic has a great reputation and I like the Corsair AX because of all-black-look. Can you guys give me some advice about this. My new system will include:

i7 2600K
Asrock Z68 Fatal1ty Professional
G.Skill 4 GBXH
Corsair Force 3 120GB
Western Digital 1 TB Black
Corsair H60 with GT 1850 P/P
Lamptron FC 5 V2
Lite On DVD R+RW
Fortress FT02 (Red Edition)
>>>> right now I own a Thermaltake Toughpower XT 675W (but currently it doesn't match my RIG theme)

Thanks for your help....

Well the Corsair is a seasonic, so I'd say either of them (Seasonic or Corsair) and from that, whichever appeals to your eyes more.

I went with a corsair AX for the same reason; the all black cables really makes my case look much better without having to do a sleeve job.

Well, the FSP Aurum is good but not really in the same class as the other two.

What do you need 750W for, like SLI GTX 570 / Crossfire HD 6970? In a FT03? That seems a bit toasty for that case, though the thermals are decent other than for the drives.

If you're interested in quality units cheaper than the Seasonic X760 and Corsair AX750 (or else I'd expect you not to mention the Aurum), check out the 650/660W versions of the Seasonic/Corsair units.

Also look for the Super Flower Golden Green, Kingwin Lazer Gold, and Sentey Golden Steel. Those are all excellent and better than the FSP Aurum and should be cheaper than the Seasonic X / Corsair AX. Those have mostly black exteriors.

Also Lepa G___MA (black/gold) is a bit better than the FSP Aurum, and fully modular.

Looks like i'll be going to Corsair then.. (it has the good of Seasonic and I love the looks) A bit pricey than Seasonic.. but, I think I can deal with it later. Need to save some money before purchase tho...

I'll be using it for SLI of Calibre GTX 560 Ti DF. Is it ok to use 750W or maybe 850W?
