Hi,

This is the 1rst time I overclock. I O/C to 4.8 GHZ stable my PC (Please see my my specs below) but I kept the memory settings to Auto in the bios because I was not sure how to manualy set it. Is it ok or what do u suggest setting the memory manualy?

Thanks

Take a look at this:

Do you see where mine says "DDR3-1866MHz"? In your UEFI, click where it says "Auto", and choose "DDR3-1866MHz".

I also recommend going into the "DRAM Timing Control" area and manually setting the first 5 timings you see in order to match what your memory is rated for. I strongly recommend using the settings you see in the far-right column in CPU-Z-s SPD tab. For example, here's mine:

Note: your memory have to be in the blue slots on this motherboard!

Don't worry about the tRC (mine says that it's 42). Just worry about the first 5 timings, and also take notice of what your Command Rate is (mine is 1T).

If you do it correctly, then it will match that far-right column like this:

Thanks so much for the detailed explanation

I noticed my memory are not in the blue slots since the blue ones are free.

What is the advantage of being in the blue ones?

The store that built and tested the PC placed them where they are, so shall I absolutely move them to the blue slots before setting the values you recommanded?

Thanks again

I don't know; the motherboard's manual just says that if we have 2 sticks, then they have to go in the blue slots. It doesn't explain why.

So I will recommend it too just in case having them in the black slots hinders your overclocking ability.
