Redbox announced on Thursday that it will be adding video game rentals to an additional 5,000 kiosks starting on August 1st. The company announced last month that it would be adding video game rentals for the Sony PlayStation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360, and the Nintendo Wii to 16,000 kiosks at the end of June. With this new addition, it will bring game rentals to 27,000 of the company’s 33,000 kiosks nationwide, but there is no word on when the remaining 6,000 kiosk will be getting an upgrade. All games carried by Redbox kiosks can be rented for $2 per night.

$2 per night sounds great and the Redboxes in my area don't have video game rentals yet, so hopefully they'll be part of the upgrade.

Interesting. Still, a long campaign can get pretty pricey to rent.

2 bucks a night is crazy, why not 1 dollar as well? How much money do they need to make on a title to make a hefty profit?

All of them in my area have video game rentals already, but I only own a Wii, so I can't really take advantage of this for any good reason. The other consoles seem to have some decent (and relatively current) choices, though.

$2 a night is a lot, but its a pretty cheap way to try a game before you shell out $50+ to own it.

If you got, and played it at or shortly after release, it was terrible due to being glitchty and unstable as hell on all systems.

Fallout 3 is a fantastic game.

It has a 91 on metacritic.

I never experienced any glitches when I played through on my retail copy. So...

COD Black Ops got an 87, does that mean it's good?

I didn't have much fun with FO3 either.
