On a more serious note, the filco and leopold boards are very similar in quality with the filco being slightly higher quality. Honestly you and I both would probably have a hard time determining if there actually is a difference between the two. Maybe some keyboard guru could clarify the differences, but for the most part they are effectively "the same" although not quite if that makes any sense.

Get the leopold if the extra $40 for the filco is too much either way you will be happy with whichever keyboard you get.

Hopefully this helps in some way haha

There are actually a few notable differences.

The Filco's switches are mounted on a plate whereas the Leopold's are mounted directly onto it's PCB. This actually makes the Filco feel more 'crisp' to type on than the Leopold.

The Leopold's keycaps do feel nicer and thicker than the Filco's However, the Leopold's stabilizers are spaced out differently from Filco/Das/Ducky boards. Most custom keycaps are made specifically to be compatible with Filco/Das/Ducky and because of this it will be very difficult to customize your Leopold.

I think the Filco looks cooler because it has sharper corners than the Leopold which has rounded corners. The Leopold does have a detachable USB cord which I am a huge fan of.

As for the wristrest, I own a Filco leather wristrest and absolutely love it.

Awesome, i think i'm more of a 'keycap' guy than anything. I have a logitech throwaway that i picked up from walmart some months ago & i still won't switch to it from my stock HP 'laptop style' keyboard simply because i always hit the corners on the keycaps with the tips of my fingers and it almost feels like bone on bone!

Haha TMI i'm sure but yes very interesting info, rep+ to you sir !

Wow, $70 for a wrist rest is pretty steep. Leather and hand-made...but man, that's almost the price of the keyboard itself.

I have the full sized 3-Star leather palm rest and it is amazing! It smells genuine and it ends up making your hands smell the same as well. This maybe a turn off for you but I like it. The 3-Star is made in Japan while I am assuming the Filco is made in Taiwan or even China. Filco is a Japanese company though but they don't manufacture there... This was the determining factor for me. I would like to know what ball park one of those wooden wrist wrests would cost because I am interested.

Just remember to get a tenkeyless wrist wrest to go along with that tenkeyless keyboard, otherwise it'll end up being oversized.

Is it sensible to avoid a wrist rest?

http://ergo.human.cornell.edu/cumousetips.html

"Don't use a Wrist Rest - research has shown that using a wrist rest doubles the pressure inside the carpal tunnel, because the floor of the tunnel is a more flexible ligament that transmits external pressure changes directly into the carpal tunnel (the roof of the tunnel is bone so the pressure doesn't get transmitted on through the hand). Indeed, one test for carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS), known as Tinel's sign, simply involves tapping on the palmar surface of the wrist, which is enough to cause tingling and numbness in someone developing CTS."
