Easiest way to migrate windows to SSD?

I'm basically new to messing with and or moving around drives.

I've checked out a few of the stickies , but I just want to make sure I don't lose any of my things I have saved currently.

I have a 30GB SSD I want to use as a OS drive with Win7 on it. As for storage I have a 1TB 7200RPM black caviar and I'm going to be purchasing another 1TB drive soon. Can anyone help me get started with setting up my SSD ?

If you have your old HDD partitioned properly you could just clone everything over. Example (30GB to OS, 2nd partition for Data). In this case you could just use one of the applications listed here:
http://downloadsquad.switched.com/20...ur-hard-drive/

If not then you'll probably have to reinstall Windows and start picking stuff to copy over.

How do I know if I have it done correctly for just a clone ? I'd like to stray away from a fresh install if possible.

Well just check your 'my computer' window. Do you have your harddrive separated into two partitions/sections. A C drive and a D drive most probably. Or is it just one big 1TB C drive.

I've used Norton Ghost, which you have to pay for..but...
It worked beautifully for me. But, I didn't exactly clone my hard drive to hard drive. I've got a macbook that I wanted to put snow leopard back on and used it as a direct clone to clone windows 7 to my external hard drive. I then used norton to browse the drive and just copy and paste over. I did that because I read somewhere that Windows can sometimes mess up with different drivers and what not. But, then again its the same computer. So, if cloning your hd isn't up your alley, you could always just copy your home folder, maybe

You can try gparted. It's a linux live cd that can copy, delete, move partitions, etc. It's how I migrated my windows to a new drive. I think you need to run chkdsk first on windows before gparted allows you to move the windows install, however. There's probably easier ways of doing this via windows etc, but I just like linux sometimes

It's a single C drive

I do in fact have a dual boot in there somewhere of Ubuntu.

I think I have gparted as well as Arconis (spelling) on a cd somewhere. Is the process hard ?
