Help! computer performance.

Thread Starter
Well I was just playing BC2 with iTunes open and team speak. Everything was running smoothly and usually does. Then BC2 closes randomly and I get a warning telling me my computer performance is slow so it suggests to change my windows scheme... wth is going on? running i7 2600k stock on a gigabyte board, evga 570 stock and Kingston hyper x ram (8gb). Anyone know whats going on? This happened to me yesterday as well.

(ps: posted under intel chips because im guessing it could be the cpu.)

I never got that message with BFBC2, but I would get it with other games (metro, crysis, a few others). A few weeks ago, I started getting it with BFBC2, but no crashes like you are getting. Maybe it has something to do with alt-tabbing. Try playing with it windowed til the message pops up, then tell it to either change the scheme to basic or to keep it normal and to not ask you again (that session)

see if that helps.

Just a comment, but Hmm, thats odd, cause your system looks smokin, and not to much open.

Is BFBC2 really that cpu intensive?

Its neither your cpu, ram, or gpu is lacking in performance. When your computer lacks in performance you will just get low fps or lagging in the game. With your set up there is no way your computer can't handle BFBC2 with iTunes.

Something else is wrong, maybe some hardware problem? Some part of your computer is faulty? Sounds like the GPU might have issues. Like it can 'boot' and play games fine, but once the games get into more intense then it can't handle the load, and crashes.

BFBC2 is intensive, but not to the point a i7-2600k can't handle. It should be barely even using much of it. I got a i5-2500k clocked to 4.5 ghz, and its barely using 30-40% of the cpu in the game.

Yah, I know those Sandy Bridge CPU's are even better in Gaming than my 990X, so I tend to agree with your assessment!

Maybe 1 more GTX570 in sli???
Or do you think it's more of a problem/conflict, then a lack of GPU power?

Edit:
Ok, sorry, I re-read your post and see what you mean.

haha no problem man.

I think his main problem is there is something broken in his GPU. Best bet is he finds another GPU to test out. The GTX 570 should easily handle BFBC2 without any problems at all. I maxed out that game with just one HD 6870, and its not even comparable to the GTX 560 Ti. So his GTX 570 can easily crush this game.

My i7-2600k don't have any problem at all, i don't think it's with the CPU...

By the way, are you overclocking it ?

Thanks for all the suggestions but I think iCrap might be right. I was looking around and a lot of people with good machines get this problem on different dx11 games. I Don't think its the gpu because I brought it over a friends house to play the BF3 alpha and it ran smoothly at 60-70 fps on high for about 5 hours straight.

@ mysteryboy yes, I'm planning on overclocking it soon but atm it's stock. Im actually a bit scared because it will be my first time overclocking :l
