Even with an unlimited budget it would be a waste for an overclocker to blow money on the most expensive Intel CPU available. Intel has always had awesome price to performance at the second or third best offering while saving a lot of cash that could go towards a great monitor setup, a serious set of SSDs in RAID, or even 'luxuries' like a nicer desk and chair to match with that expensive computer. Of course, the most expensive AMD might not be all that pricey, so if that's the case knock yourself out!

As an aside, it's really hard to make any recommendations without knowing what the goal of the computer is. If it's just to spend money for spending money's sake, that's cool and all, but it's a lot easier when there are set goals.

So...this is gonna be for something special, right?

Yes, folding, BIONIC, media encoding, 3d work, gaming, photoshop, all at once. Everything basically.
