I just dont think the AD700s lack of bass means headphones with more bass will sound worse.

The AD700 has weak bass. End of Story. Thats not to say the AD700s are bad cans, just that they are seriously lacking in an area that helps with game immersion and general sound quality.
That doesnt mean the RX700s have too much bass or sound muddy on their own. They only sound that way when you have been listening to speakers that cant produce the same amount.

I would almost recommend the RX900s if we are looking to be all in the same price range.
As for the mic, I would grab one of the Logitech USB Desk Mics, or pretty much any clip on mic.
