Wheres the suicide? 1.49 volts?

Jesus i use 1.525v just to get 4.0ghz

Your are on 4.5ghz.

OMG, i want your chip so bad, so lucky.

4ghz with 1.38xx, envy you so much.

FYI: these chips can take up to 1.55v by amd spec, if temps are good <60C even more.

Go for 5ghz when you get Rasa kit!!!!
I live in texas, so my ambients are awful, and my cooler is pretty crappy, I don't want to incinerate the thing before i have decent cooling.. And I'm definitely going to try to get 5Ghz out of it once I've got liquid

Quote:
I'm close, 4GHz at 1.416v

Silver chip? Someone tell me. I got 3.8 on stock as well. (1.392v)

Oh I get 51c load temps under stress tests, not really wanting to go further though.
I meant stock volts, I got 3.8 with 1.355.. That was with the stock cooler too, though

I may try again for 4.6 later..

Put a D14 on there (better cooling = better OC/lower voltage on Phenom II) and your results will fly

I'm hoping to get an rs240 and maybe some yate loons, and my gpus wont be in the loop, would that be enough?

Umm no, he won't get a lower voltage. His actual voltage will still be 1.525v at load. It's stupid to go by BIOS values when your actual voltage is 0.1v less/more.

Dang dude. I envy you...but if I had better cooling, a good 8+2 MB, and if my room wasn't like 80+ degrees at the moment(with AC), I'd love to push my chip. I've gotten this little fellow to 4.0 at 1.37, and 4.2 at 1.43, but its too dang hot now to try and risk it.

Wish I could take a apart an old refrigerator, and run the coolant tubing into my rig...Hmm....I wonder if that has been done...
I have a 965 that does 4.0 stable at 1.35v and 4.3 at 1.44v stable but it's in a crappy 4+1 msi board so kinda scared to push it Though I have gotten it to 4.6

Them are some nice clocks, but suicide runs they are not... These chips can/will take 1.55+ volts as long as you keep them properly cooled....

See examples: These are all on air (Venomous X Black + 260 CFM San Ace)

Is it just me but 60c doesnt seem that high to me yet I baby my card if it goes beyond 68c and I dont mean any bragging but is that supposed to be really good that chip your only hitting 4.5 on 1.5v?

EDIT: This is to OP not you Seba.

LOL...

The thing with these chips is that they like cold a lot more than they do volts. Some chips will do 4GHz at 1.4V (mine will do it at 1.38V), but once you start going higher they will require more voltage which in turn will make them get hotter and the hotter they get the harder it is for them to continue to scale up on the clockspeeds. I haven't taken my 955 subzero yet (maybe tomorrow), but I can tell you that once the chip is at -70C it will be much easier to get past 5GHz without having to increase voltages that much more than what I've already pushed through it on air (1.568V).
