Window asking to load in Safe Mode, safe mode with network, safe mode with command promt and ask to Load windows normally. I click to load windows normally but window 7 logo just keeps on loading. Tried entring safe mode but it hangs there too. Don,t know what to do please help.

Believe it or not, I think the PSU might be lacking in power. I know it's rated for 500W, but it's also a Linkworld unit.

So what type and wattage are you talking about. I thought the gt430 1gb was a entrie lvl graphics card. So thats the main reason why it will not boot into window7, I thought it would be a bios or driver problem.

If it is the psu, if i run the most basic hardware will the pc boot into window7.
Or will that make no difference. Please let me know.

P.s. I was thinking of loading window7 on empty partition with gt430. Or will that not work either. Please let me know.

It's not that a 500W-rated power supply is not enough, but ..... well, there's more to it than that. It's possible to have like 10 different 500W-rated PSUs where only one of them has enough power to run the system.

Based on what you experienced, the answer might be yes (not guaranteed) because it boots fine when you have the x1050 in it, and I think the x1050 requires much less power than the GT 430.

The reason why I'm so unsure is because CPUs and graphics cards require much more power than anything else in the system. So removing other things might help, but I can't be sure (although it's certainly worth trying).

If all else fails, that sounds like a worthwhile experiment to me too!

I do not think the problem is caused by insufficient power of the PSU. The maximum power of a GT430 is only 49W and as such, it does not even require an external 6-pin PCIe connector.

I think the problem is due to insufficient system memory.
a. Generally speaking, your 2GB system memory is enough for a Win 7 32-bit OS.

b. And, as the memory of a graphics card would 'map' into the system memory, the 128MB(or 256MB) of the X1050 does not take up that much of the system memory and so this graphics card works OK.

c. However, the new GT430 has 1GB. I suspect this 1GB 'eats' too much into the 2GB system memory and causes problem. If this is the cause, the simple solution is to add two more DIMMs to make a total of 4GB system memory.
