Question on Dual LGA 2011 CPUs

Thread Starter
I know that around Q4 2011/Q1 2012 that EVGA will be releasing their dual LGA 2011 motherboards. http://www.techpowerup.com/146970/EV...therboard.html

Here is my main question: Is it possible to use 2 Intel 3960x cpu's on this board? I know that the SR-2 only supported xeon's, but the article does mention sb-e processors that are lga 2011, and the 3960x does fall under that category.

Thanks.

With regards to SR-2 and not being able to use 2x 980x for instance, it was due to the fact the CPU's did not have a QPI-link to be able to run in tandem (The Xeon's possessed this)

It is unknown at this stage whether the 3960X with have the needed link in order to run in tandem, i guess we will have to wait and see
