my gpu's have different volts

Thread Starter
I own two 5850, one is the standard 5850 brand saphire, on load the volt is 1.08751 which is normal for 5850 gpu.

My 2nd gpu is Asus Direct cu 5850, this one has an extra 2pin connector to PSU it also gives 1.1688 volts.

I wonder if there is any harm or problems when gaming considering the cards have different volts?

I did flash the saphire to a Asus bios mainly because I wanted to use it with a Asus software, now Im instead considering re-flashing it to sync to volts.

Or both with custom volts to maybe overclock them in future.

Most likely your going to have to use custom volts for each.

is there any benefit to flash the first card to same volt as the Asus?

Do I get any benefits from having exact same volts when running crossfire?

Leave the voltage as it is. Use custom volatge only for your overclock stability. Increasing voltage only raising the temp and power consumption without the benefit of better performance. They can work fine on its own respective core/memory/volatge in crossfire set-up.

The difference in voltage is fine.

The Asus card will just OC alot higher than the standard 5850 because of the increase voltage.

If you want to optain similar OC potential from both cards, then flash the Sapphire card with a 1.16v load bios.

thanks rep given, I'll prolly not overclock yet, I guess I'll flash them to 1.2v when the value of the cards is wery low
