[Escapist] Minecraft Middle-Earth Will Melt Your Mind - Page 4

Amazing, simply amazing. I watched the 45min video and enjoyed every second. I'm flabbergasted at the size of the project these guys have taken on, and even more so at how well they've succeeded.

Could you imagine the file size if something like that were built on Crysis 2?
Thats a huge map and very detailed for what they have to work with. And I thought I was an O.C.D. mapper.

This video is oozing with NERDNESS, but kinda amazing and cool in a qwuirky way. If they hadn't said it was Middle Earth, there's no way I would of known, but I guess it kinda looks like it. Imagine if these guys put this much effort into building real non-virtual things-- they might be making some serious cash.

I am literally speechless. The amount of work that's been done here is beyond anything I've seen in just about any endeavor. Once they finish the other half or so (Lothlorien-Mordor) I think this will probably rank as one of the greatest creative achievements in human history. I'm not even joking.

once upon a time, people feared for children who didn't want to play with legos, as it showed a lack of creativity in said individuals. creativity is a component of intelligence.

i fear for those who don't have any interest in games like minecraft.

personally, i like to call it mindcraft

Personally, I'll stick with legos. lol. (Child of the late 80's sentimental value and all that) However this is a beautiful piece of work they have.

Some big name developer needs to purchase the blueprints of their world, make a real FFA MMOFPSRPG out of it, and then sit back and let the cash role in.
