Phenom 970 BE, 4.2ghz, 45 deg load, NB 1.2V- questions

hey guys

I'll give some rig details first

Cpu: Phenom 970 BE
Cooler: Frio OCK (Over Clockers King) edition
Case: Antec DF-85
Mobo: gigabyte GA 870 UD3 rev2.1

This rig was basically for a home server build, and some way or other, I ended up with this cpu and went why not overclock it?

Anyways settings are as follows

200.91 x 21.0 - 4219.12Mhz
1.475V, cpu-z said my core voltage was 1.456, unless I really did set it to that in the bios? (can't double check now, left the rig at work)
NB freq. 2200mhz
NB 1.2V
No other bios settings touch, nor bios update.
100% Load=45 degrees

Left it running OCCT, for bout 30mins at work then left to go home.

According to this article my NB should be 2666
http://www.overclockers.com/the-impo...the-phenom-ii/

So questions are, whats my core voltage limit?, and how much further do you think I can push it? I have 10-15 degrees of head room. I obviously want everything to be safely overclocked no crazy settings.

Been out out of the overclocking realm since the Q6600, so I had to do some quick reading and catch up work, so not 100% sure on all the details and limits of this cpu overclock.

1.55v max for the core and 1.4v-1.45vmax for the CPU-NB.

Try and get your CPU-NB speed to 3000Mhz or so for a nice performance boost. You won't need that high of a cpu-nb voltage for 3Ghz.

Wow, didn't think it could be pushed so far.
So tempted to go to work and try it now haha.

Thanks for the quick reply too.

Also is my cooler giving good or decent temps compared to others? its freaken loud so I hope so. Standard frio was top 5 on frosty tech, but frio ock doesn't have much solid reviews or vid reviews around.

Your NB speed and cpu speed has nothing to do with each others, but your Ram speed and NB speed does.

I never liked going over 1.4v on the cpu-nb voltage when I had a Phenom II chip. I'm willing to bet you'll need 1.35v max for 3Ghz.

Yeah, nice cooler hehe

FYI
1.5v on the CPU-NB is the max that is want AMD says.

Oh sweet, getting all the info I need for 2morows tests, so quickly haha, really appreciate the speedy replies.

Think I know most limits now, just have to drill through different settings 2morow and find the best combo.

Has had mixed reviews, the standard frio is top 5 on frostytech, they havent reviewed this yet. Only downside is the noise. I like plugged everything in turned it to full on the lil knob, and went hey thats not so loud. Then in the bios I was like hey I don't want my mobo auto controlling my cpu fan, so disabled it, and oh how the cyclone started lol.

Now you've got me thinking :S pretty sure I did the CPU-NB, stock for that voltage was 1.1 . Hopefully I don't rock up to the workshop 2morow and see a toasted cpu.
