Hello guys,im new so sorry if i posted in wrong section of forum. So here is my problem since i bought my pc back in 2006 my windows xp(pack3) was detecting my cpu as a single core but i opened the case and it says dual core processor
and cpuz is detecting it too as a single core so how do i fix it because i cant run some games because of it and pc is slow compared to my friends PC wich has same processor and less ram.I already uninstalled win few times since 2006 so dont worry about that.

Why did you wait until now? If I bought something and something this big was wrong I would've been up in arms over it.

Try to see if any cores are disabled in bios.

It says dual core on mother board with big white letters next to the cpu.

I dont know how to do that in bios so can you explain me?

I'm thinking you have a dual core compatible motherboard with a single core processor sitting on it. Take a look at the model of cpu that cpuz is reporting.

The motherboard could simply be saying it is dual core capable. You probably have a single core.

You get into bios by pressing a certain key during startup before windows starts. It is different for different motherboards- watch the screen during startup and it will probably tell you what to hit. Delete and F12 are common keys. Sometimes they can be tricky, so I have just got into the habit of hitting it over and over until I can see that bios is starting rather than windows.

Maybe this will help
What does it say in the boxes i have circled in the picture when you look at cpuz on your rig?
