Corsair H100 Pics, Review, Benchmark!

Thread Starter
Intro:
Hi everyone! I finally got my Corsair H100 in the mail yesterday from NewEgg! I was up late installing it and what not and am pressed for time right now, as I have to go to work soon so, I will upload pic's of the H100 installed and later tonight, I will update this post with all the subject goodies! I hope you enjoy and keep checking back!

A quick opinion on the H100: The backplate was kind of cheap and Corsair did cheap out on only giving you 4 fan screws! I plan to install 4 Xigmatek XLF fans in Push/Pull configuration. As of right now, I have 2 Xigmatek XLF fans in push config and it is extremely quiet at max! Other than that, this cooler is remarkable and gives me back the space I've been missing on my board for Dimm 0 & Dimm 1 RAM slots and my USB 3.0 header. BENCHMARK REVIEW WILL BE POSTED LATER Please respond with your own pic's and comments!

Results: PUSH

Ambient temp is static at 28.1c. All results are posted in degrees centigrade. It was a hot day here in Miami and my A/C is just starting to cool the house at 10PM!

Push/Pull Results:

So, I finally setup my H100 in Push/Pull configuration. I have 2x 120mm ThermalTake 94CFM Blue-Eye Fans in Push and the stock Corsair H100 fans in Pull configuration. Here are the resutls

REAPPLIED TIM AND RESEATED CPU BLOCK! 8/7/11

THANK GD!!! Finally, my H100 is behaving like the $120 cooler that I expected!

Push Conclusion:

IMO the temperatures in push configuration are in line with the results I saw with my Cooler Master V6GT. This probably is due to the fact that I swapped out the Corsair fans with 61CFM Xigmatek XLF fans. This was done for noise reducation and aesthetics. The temperatures are more than safe for a 24/7 overclock. Overall, I am very happy because I know that as soon as I find the screws I need to mount the "Pull" fans, it will only get better! I probably will end up changing the "Push" fans to the ones that Corsair sent me and just putting the Xigmatek XLF fan's as the "Pull" fans.

In all, I am happy for now because I now have regained access to my Dimm 0 + Dimm 1 Memory slots, as well as my USB 3.0 header. As with any new toy, more testing and more playing around with needs to be done!

Push/Pull Conclusion:

I am very disappointed to say the least. I spent an extra $30 on fans to complete this Push/Pull setup and the results are none to MAYBE 1c better. I don't understand why or how it could be that 4 x 94cfm 120mm fans perform at the same level as 2 x 62 cfm 120mm fans. More testing and tweaking needs to be done. As always, I will keep OCN posted!

EDIT 8/7/2011:

So, it turns out there must have been an issue with the way my CPU block was seated or maybe when I removed the CPU block to add the pull fans, the TIM was no good anymore. Either way, I am finally getting the results I was hoping for. Mid to high 50's for a closed water loop, can you say, "YES, PLEASE!?!"

I'd like to know how this performs against the H70..I still need to buy the Intel 2600k yet to be able to swap in my new parts in my HAF 932 but I bought the H70 already and wondering what I should do..if the H100 outperforms the H70 in a big way then I'll have to try and sell the H70. (its still unopened)

Im not going to do any indepth testing other than comparing it to my H70 temps which i have run for 6 months. Ill let you know the differance between the two...

It doesn't matter either way 1 or 2 won't make much a difference. I know from what I had Crossfire setup, I used 2 for aesthetics. (Anyways, OT, back to the H100!)
