Corsair H100 Pics, Review, Benchmark! - Page 24

Hey guys, ran a few more benches today with interesting results. I added a 4.4 Ghz 1.464V tortue test and a MAX P/P vs. MIN PP at 4.2 Ghz @ 1.36V.

Screens soon.

I wonder if the the lack of performance that I'm experiencing has to do with the fact that I only have 2 screws diagonally on my push fans. There is a slight leaning down on the sides of the push fans where there are no screws. I didn't think this would make much of a difference since my push fans move 94 CFM. I will go ahead and purchase the additional screws and see if that makes a difference. I'm only seeing 2c better temps in 94cfm push/pull over 2 62cfm push fans.

How many screws do you have attaching your push/pull fans to the radiator?

I also only have my fans with 2 screws each diagonally. Report this to Corsair, I just asked them for 8 extra rad screws and they set me up with a delivery for free. Of course I haven't gotten them yet but they said it should be coming to me soon.

How do you have your rad setup? Are you intaking or exhausting air? I'm not sure how good your other fans are, but try having the corsair ones push air against the rad and the other ones pulling. Plug the corsair ones into the cpu block and the others into their own headers.

I own a Haf X. and I do notice the 4 mounting holes up top for a 240mm Radiator. My question involves the 2, 200mm fans that are already up there. If I turned those around and made them intake fans than mounted the radiator and mounted the fans under blowing down. Is that feasible for a push pull configuration? I don't know much about water cooling, and I'm not sure the static-pressure would be there, because of the gaps. I'm not sure if that terminology is even right.... wink.gif

I had the Noctua D14 in my cart for a few days now. My only concern is the amount of room it takes up. The H100 looks a little more efficient.

There is plenty of room for the D14 in your case. How much is the price difference between the 2 coolers? If you can get the D14 for 80 or less and don't mind sacrificing room around your CPU area get that cooler. At stock it probably cools almost as well as the H100 in PUSH max speed but MUCH quieter.

If you choose to go H100 leave those fans as exhaust and just attach the cooler to them with the stock fans to PUSH. Apparently you should have your higher rpm fans push.

I currently have my stock corsair fans running slower than my AP-15's and might be switching them around to see if I get better results.

Here's a couple of screenies before and after my H100 install. That 1st temp. is supposed to be 21C. Trust me, it ain't almost 160F in my house! The 140mm. fans are also Aerocool Sharks. My new favorite brand.

1hourprime95.jpg

After the install.

2nd1hourprime95.jpg

This shows the temps. dropped 5-5-5-6C. I don't really think just 5C is worth the price, do you? Especially at a constant ambient temp. of 21C.

Were your fans connected into the block or some other power source? If they were hooked into the block, those temps wouldn't have caused them to reach max RPM which could be the reason for why your results aren't a larger decrease.

Still though, those temps are nice. Maybe this cooler will let you hit a higher oc?
