Corsair H100 Pics, Review, Benchmark! - Page 56

Thank you for the reply George. It would be nice for the 600t to have the extensions. Mounting the fans in the top compartment just makes hooking the fans to the block a challenge.

Hi! I currently have a Cooler Master Storm Enforcer Case and I have decided to get a watercooling kit for my system. I am trying to decide between the H80 and the H100 and I am leaning toward the H100. The only problem is that I dont know if it will fit in my case as I only have 4cm clearance between the top of the case and my motherboard. Any idea if ti will fit?

Thanks

The H100 specs are listed as: Thickness 27mm and the fans are 25mm thick. Which is 5.2 cm.
Looking at your picture, it may fit. But it would be really close. Or might not fit. I would do a quick search in this subforum of water cooling of the H100 in the CM storm scout to see if or how others have done it.

This quote, for Cooler Master Storm Enforcer in this artical
Heres the link.
"Adequate room is at the top of the case for mounting a hefty radiator such as the Corsair H100 without interfering with the processor mounting."

I have four fans connected to the H100, and I found connecting the fans to be the least challenging part. Really, it's just two fan wires. If you go into the 600T club you'll see lots of people with the H100 and the 600T case. Personally I'm glad they are no longer than they are. Too much wire is a pain.

Nope, it ain't going to fit (no matter what hardwarereview says, measurements don't lie). Not only are you a cm short, but the block is pretty big and may also get in the way. You may be able to do it with "slim" 120mm fans, but they won't do a very good job on a rad. You could do it if you mounted the fans on the outside of the case (you could use grills and filters). You need 25mm + 27mm = 52mm and you only have 40mm.

Personally, with your case, I think the H80 would be the perfect fit and it's only one or two degrees off from the H100 anyway, uses basically the same block, and is made for cases that won't fit the H100.

Edit: I noticed based on other information you are going to order the H100. If I was you I would redo your measurements. It looks to me like you are short, and I hope you don't go out and spend $110 on bad advice.

The measurements don't lie. If you measured correctly (and it looks like you did in your picture), the H100 and a 25mm fan are not going to fit above your board.

Thanks for the reply I will most probably get an H80 along with two AP-15 fans then

Go to the H80 thread. Start looking through all the posts for pictures so you get a good feel for how big it is. The H80 is no small cooler. You should make sure it will fit. You will have 2 fans (50mm) and an extra thick rad(38mm) = 88mm hanging on the back fan mount. If you have any spare 120mm fans around, stack three of them together to get a rough idea how large the H80 will be and make sure it fits nice in your case.

Here are the H80 dimensions from Corsair's site:

Radiator Dimensions 120mm x 152mm x 38mm

Add the fans and you get: 120mm x 152mm x 88mm
