It's like comparing the 0-60 times of two completely different cars that use the same engine. Sure, they might both have the same 300 horsepower turbo V6, but one is an SUV with the aerodynamics of a brick that weighs 5000 lbs and has a 5 speed automatic transmission and the other is a streamlined coupe that weighs 3000 lbs and has a 6 speed manual.

If the SUV gets 8.9 seconds - you'd be tempted to say that the engine is crap.
If the Couple gets 5.1 seconds - you'd be tempted to say that it's a pretty solid engine.

But the real answer is to compare different engines in the same car - so that only one variable changes.
You'd also have to take into account where the runs were done, what temps/humidity/altitude etc they were done. There's a lot of variables in computer testing just as there are in car testing...

Yep.

All our internal testing is done in a climate controlled oven set to 25C ambient, and all units are installed in a case, with the exact same motherboard, CPU, GPU. If the CPU dies, we'll have to start over entirely because even the same model of CPU can give you different temps. Some CPUs run hotter or cooler than others.

To the guy comparing the $250 swiftech config, also keep in mind I'm using 62cfm xigmatek XLF fans in push only. I'll post results wednesday of the corsair fans in push and isilenx 72cfm fans in pull. It should be in the mid to high 50s.

Matter-of-fact I'll use the Corsair fans with the fans from my V6GT in push/pull config since they are both 92cfm 12cm fans!

I couldn't compare anything my sig says it all, I cann't make up my mind what to do for cooling, I have a 2 year old son I spend most days playing with. And the games I do play once he goes to bed my system runs maxed with out any trouble.
I don't want a big lump of metal hanging on my motherboard so I have the choice of going proper watercooled or for one of the AIO options, I know the good and bad of each as it would only be cpu both would do the job, and thats where I am I cann't decide

h50 will cool stock and mild to modest OC'ed i5/i7 without breaking a sweat. If you don't want to OC much grab on of those. I had it for a week, but temps were too warm at 47-48x with 1.45 or less for 24/7. It never passed 85c in 79-80F room. I liked it a lot. I saw the reviews and for the Antec and tried it out. It's pretty silly how well it works. It takes a couple days or more to really stabilize too. I used the pre applied thermal paste this time (same with the corsair and I never use the pre-applied stuff) and it's been dreamy! Coming from as5, or antec formula 5. I'll be using either one when I re-seat if needed.

You almost can't go wrong with these new sealed systems, I really think these are the future of cooling for PCs.

They are definitely the future, and they also need alot more work if they are to dethrone the custom loop.

Would this cooler be a step up from my Ven-X w/ 2 AP-15s?

Secondly, can I use my 2 extra AP's as extra pull fans or do I need all 4 fans to run at the same speed?

Fair enough. So our results would have multiple variables leading to a flawed outcome. It would still be cool to pit system vs system to see the kind of temps we are all getting with various H100 competitors. But once again everyone chose to talk it out.

You have a H100 for example, qft and post up some temps. Anybody viewing this thread would of liked to see your load temps.
