3x 24 inch but I use just 1 for SC2. (1920x1200) really good.

16:10 is probably better for RTS games mainly because you have that ginormous UI going along the entire bottom of the screen. A 16:10 monitor would give you more vertical pixels and help compensate for that.

Edit:
Also from experience, i own both and definitely prefer 16:10 for RTS games but prefer 16:9 for every other genre (and movies obviously )

16:9 is better than 16:10 from looking at some comparison screenshots, but it's VERY VERY little, like 10 pixels.

I'm playing on my 27" and even though I find it a little big sometimes, it allows me to have a bigger screen further away, Starcraft just scales the UI and everything, SCV's are the size of a loony VS the size of a 10 cent on my 11.6' laptop
