I have AMD 965 right now overclocked to 3.7 Ghz. Will i5-2500 be a significant improvement in terms of games?

For the money, not too much. I'd save it for a better card.

Yes you'd get a much larger gaming boost with a new gpu then a new cpu.

Thanks, btw I love your avatar.

On the other hand, I recently just received a GTX 460 SE for GTX 260 RMA. Should I get another GTX 460 SE for $90 to SLI or upgrade to GTX 570/580?

SLI route is a lot cheaper, but if the performance is roughly the same I would rather to pay $90 than $300+.

Also, should I upgrade my RAM? How much improve will that be?

Upgrade to 4 gb of 1600 mhz ram
The sli route is much better.
You may see a 5-10 fps increase on the cpu, 40+ on the gpu depending on the game
