H100 and Antec 1200 case - Page 8

I've noticed that you guys are mounting the H100 in the top with a PULL fan configuration. How would your temps be in a push? I know you wouldn't get as low of a temperature for the rad, but isn't the case airflow good enough to keep the temps down?

No, they can be dis-attached, but it's a pain to do so.

Heat naturally rises, but.. that being said the airflow in the case is fairly good. I have the 3 fans at the front pulling in air (and a fan mid/case/bay in the second), side fan pulling in air and the 2 rear fans exhausting.

So I'm pulling in air from the top, front and side, and that air is then being pushed to the back of the case via the front fans and exhausted / pulled straight back out using the rear 2. So, I'm hoping, that's drawing any warm out of the case fairly quickly.
Oh and my GPU also exhausts out of the back of the case, not inside. So that helps :3

@Undeadllama, I haven't forgotten about you, or the images. I'll try and get them up as soon as possible xD

@Nvidia-Brownies, I haven't tried and don't really fancy doing it either. I think I'll stick with in-case mounting tongue.gif

P.S. Fan is dremmeled, fits much better as it now slides back into place. >^^>

man you guys must have the newer Antec 1200's i got mine when i still had Phenom 9950 and it has no hole in the motherboard tray to access the back to change out the back plate.

oh well ill see what i do when my h100 comes in, im preparing for a system upgrade going with the Asus Cross hair V AM3+ mobo, new bulldozer, h100 cooler, a second 5870 for crossfire and a corsair AX800watt powersupply should be good

Here's my Antec 1200 with the H100 fitted...

450

I removed the top and drilled 4 hols to accommodate it. Here's it fitted from the top, the red circles are the holes I drilled and the yellow are two holes there already.

Have you thought about using a nibbler or something to remove the excess metal that is blocking the airflow from the radiator? Or perhaps the same thing to mount it to the rear vents to make clearance for the ends of the radiator?

argh ive joined the antec 12k v2 + h100 club and new to all this pc building

i worked out how to mount the thing to the back of the case using 4 of the h100 screws but as i have a rampage iv the top pci x16 slot was blocked so after reading all these comments i had a go at mounting it to the top, it was that or paying another 100-150 for a new case, ive mounted the rad a little diff to what people on here have. i tried to get the rad as center as possible drilling holes just behind the cases big boy guard on each side i used the smaller screws that came with the h100 and put 2 washers on each screw they are just the right length to screw into the rad without damaging it and seems to secure the rad well and hide those god awful front panel leads

no pics yet h100 pump was making a horrible grinding noise when i got it

my questions are...

which way did people direct the big boy in or out of the case?

does anyone have any temps of this?

does it matter where i screw the fpanel ground lead (i have it screwed to the screws holding the front bezzle on)

will the fact that the rad will be touching the metal big boy guard effect the rad or performance?
