I just bought an Antec 900...help!

So I bought a new case because I hate the case I have now (some kind of Rosewill.) I want to mod the case for cable management so my computer will be beautiful inside. I've never done one before so I did a google search and got bombarded info so much info my brain exploded.

I don't even know where to start. Even the sticky threads on this forum seem give me 10,000 links and I don't know what to click first. Can someone point me in the right direction?

What you need is a hole saw, u channel tubing and a dremel. Various grit sandpaper would help too.

Also, Paint is optional.

Thanks for the help so far guys. I gather from more research that most people just drill holes on the part of the case the MoBo is mounted on and connect the wires in the back.

How do people decide where to put the holes?

trust me, i've owned an antec 900. you will only get so far with it. you WILL NOT get SUPERB wire mangement, but you will get some with cutting some holes. its not made for cable management but you can try and hide some of your excess wires. please fill out your user CP so we can help ya more in the future.

and why did you buy the antec 900 when the haf922 is so much better for roughly the same price?

im guessing because the 900 is cheaper in the UK at the moment?

Decide where you want your cables to go, and then cut the holes where you have to put the cables to keep them as invisible as possible.
Personally, I made a series of holes right in front of where the PSU finishes so that I can immediately route all the cables behind the motherboard tray, two additional holes to the right of the motherboard (where the existing two holes are) and one right up top for the CPU power cable. Also, a hole behind the CPU for easy mounting of heatsinks.

You can see the motherboard tray cuts I made here: http://overclock.net/10793880-post.html (last photo)
And the additional hole for the CPU power cable that I added late: http://overclock.net/11333974-post.html (Design Flaw section)

Thank all of you for the tips and guide. I guess I'm gonna buy a dremel and get started next weekend. I might even paint the inside black.

I live in the US. TBH I just bought the highest rated case on Newegg. And I filled out my PCs stats just for you. (Go ahead. Laugh at my ATI graphics.)

I saw this guy got his case really clean: http://www.overclockers.com/forums/s...d.php?t=630569
so I suppose it could be done again. I wasn't thinking about cable management while I was shopping, I was thinking about how loud my case is now. >_<
