Backup Steam Games

I'm reformatting Windows, so how can I backup them so that I don't have to download them again? I'm not sure if cut and paste into a different drive works.

Click steam in the top left, then back up and restore games. Then choose a location. Steam will do the rest.

Thank you!

EDIT: It tells me to choose between CD and DVD. Does this matter at all or is it just for simplicity if I were to burn it?

It deppends wether you're just saving it into another Hard Drive or want to burn it into DVD's/CD's.

I'd choose DVD as I always backup my games into another Hard Drive.
