MSI P67A-G45 Mobo issue

Thread Starter
Ive recently installed a MSI P67A-G45 Mobo along with the Intel Sandy Bridge Cpu and everything is working find except for the Network Adaptor. Ive installed all the other drivers but when I go to install the Network Adaptor driver the install fails with the error "Realtek Network Adaptor not found". Ive checked numerous times both on the disk and MSI's site and as far as I can tell this is the correct driver. Another thing is when I go to Device Manager the Network Adaptor is not displayed. I'm fairly new at this and am unsure where to proceed from here. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

My OS is XP btw.

Are you sure you installed the Realtek 8111E drivers for XP? This is from the official Realtek website.

Yes that exact one, as well as ones from MSI's site and, silly me, the friggin CD that came with my Mobo. Ive googled the problem and alot of people are having the exact same thing happen to them. This is across multiple Mobo brands and OS'es. The gist of it is Realtek Network Adapter will randomly enter a power conservation mode called "Deep Sleep Mode" an when it does that the adapter disappears from Device Manager. At that point none of your drivers will install b/c the damn Adapter cant be found. Ive literally had the damn thing pull a Houdini on me while I was STARING at it in Device Manager. Some people have gotten theirs to work by pulling there ram, some their gpus, some both and some sacrificing goats on the autumnal equinox with a sickle forged from old lan cards. Well Ive tried all this and nothing worked for me.

I think Im done. Im not jumping through these kinda hoops just to install a damn lan driver. Its completely ridiculous. Ive reinstalled my old Mobo and Cpu and reformatted and it took me less than an hour with no hassle whatsoever.
