2600K, custom loop, temps seem a little high.

Hello

I started messing around with my 2600k, and I think that my temps are a little higher than they should be, but I'm not sure.

Here is what I am using:

2600k @ 4.6GHz (Stock voltage)

Pump - EK DCP 4.0
Block - EK Supreme HF
Rad - EK Coolstream 360 (Thin 3cm rad, w/ 3 1850RPM Gentle Typhoons)
MX-4 Paste

My ambient temps are from 27 to 30C. In Prime95 (Blend), my temps range from 62C to 68C after stabilizing.

What do you think? Are these good temps for such a setup, or is there something wrong here?

That's indeed quite high...
Did you apply to much TIM?
Tried reseating the block?
btw, stock or auto voltage?
stock=> Golden chip !!

check the Sandy Stable club for overclocking, voltage, temperature and cooling reference. You should be able to compare with other.

Link is on my sig, check the table in the club and select the sheets to get the relevant info.

If by "stock voltage" you mean that it is set on "auto" in bios, I'd change it to a manual setting before taking anything apart.

The BIOS for Asus boards is pretty notorious for cranking up the CPU core voltage WAY higher than it needs to be when it is left on auto while OCing.

Yeah, it was set to Auto. Only now did I notice that it was feeding my CPU 1.37v @ stock speeds.

Had to go up to 1.32 for 4.6GHz. My temps are now between 62 and 66C @ 32C ambient (Yes, it's hot in here). Still too high?

I checked everything and reseated the block. Everything is as it should be, except the temps.

Your temp is decent even with max load 68c , my i7 950@4.2ghz with ambient 30c max load can reach to 73c... just keep under 80c it will be ok( best to keep under 75c)
