Yes I realize I forgot the r in Corsair. Anyways I'm debating if I should try reseating my H80. But the only paste I can find at the moment is the paste that came with my Prolimatech Megahalems that I bought about 2 years ago. Is this paste adequate?

Heres my temps after 2 hours of prime95 blend. What do you guys think?

2500k @ 4.6ghz 1.304v under load. Ambient temps are about 80F. Installed as exhaust balanced profile with stock fans.

Hmm. I was just debating about trying to lower my temps. I have seen a few H80s with about 5-8c lower temps even with higher volts than i'm pumping through my 2500k.

80F ambient? Your temps are just fine then. TIM will not drop your temps significantly. Good TIM and avg TIM are only separated by maybe 2-3c tops in performance. Plus your temps look good.

it wont kill your electric bill that much if you put it at 70F while you benchmark!! and then put it back later
Haha ill try it out tomorrow. As long as my temps are within check with ambient temps I suppose I don't have anything to worry about.

Don't change the TIM. Wait a day or two, then re-tighten the H80 block screws a little.

Tighten the screws in this order:

1

3
...CPU
4

2

Well when installed the H80 I hand tightened it down until the screws physically wouldnt move anymore. How much further can I tighten them?

I tightened it down like this though.

So the opposite in which you said I dont think it would make a difference..

As far as the heatwave goes.. its warm out. In the low 90s which is nothing we arent used to. But it's not as hot as it was a about 2 weeks ago. We were tickling 100 with heat indexes approaching 115 and 75 degree dew points. Fun stuff.

The way you did it is fine too. The screws seem to loosen up a bit as you use the PC. I've had to tighten mine two times. The design on the H80 block is a little different than the H70 though. I would check the screws again in 2 weeks.

Hmm odd. So I guess we have to periodically tighten them?
