Not what I was trying to say. You are completely right, but most high end amps will use 1/4 in jacks as opposed to the little 3.35 mm ones.

The audio technica set will blow the corsairs out of the water, and then out of the atmosphere. There is no comparison. AD700s are audiophile cans, that are amazing for gaming, whereas the corsairs are cheap "gaming" headphones with an overpriced and low quality mic attached.

Get the AD700s and be happy.

Thanks!

Honestly, for gaming, nothing is more convenient than a zalman clip on mic. You just fasten it to the headphone cable and forget about it. Its dirt cheap as well.

This is really only for gaming and voice chat, if you were doing music recording you'd want a much higher quality cardoid mic, or something similar.

Swap out the cables in the front audio jack.
If you want, you can get a plantronics switcher, that lets you switch between speakers and headphones with the push of a button.

Ah. I guess I could use the front panel. I'm almost having trouble with the mic.

It's using the webcam mic, even though the xonar is defaulted. I've trying unplugging / disabling the webcam mic but still nothing.

*FIGURED IT OUT: You have to go to mixer on the audio control panel ... go the mic options... and select microphone instead of front panel*

Well done comprehensive review. These are some of the most popular gaming headphones. Glad to see they are getting the attention they deserve here.
