Ethernet Problem

Thread Starter
Well hello there.

My D-link router cant be accessed by ethernet cord. It works perfectly fine on wireless, however by ethernet it just shows a yellow !. I fear the router could be broken, of course I have tried the ethernet connection (By different ports on the router) on other computers. This is problematic for other people in my household, because they don't have wireless connectivity.

Basically, wireless works fine, Ethernet doesn't work, and I have a D-link router.

Another note: The ethernet was working fine until I noticed my computer didnt connect via ethernet cord. So I reset the whole router, and now no ethernet ports/cords work!!!

Im super confused and frustrated.

Edit: I plugged the internet cord directly from my modem, to my computer... and it works. That just means that it isnt my computer that is having problems here, its the router.

What does it say when you try to 'repair' the connection in windows?

do you see the activity light on the modem flashing, and the WAN port on the router blinking?

When I try to trouble windows it says the DNS server isnt responding.

And on the back of my computer I see a red light, and a green light flashing...

I dont think I did, I really dont know what you're asking me to do -.-

I'm quite new to this.

Basically I have internet coming threw the modem, I have perfect wireless, yet ethernet is still being a *****.

Also the modem light is blinking, and there are four ports on the back of my router...

The first is some other ethernet port (That my dad setup) That light is on
The second is my ethernet port (The one I should get internet out of) it is off

The other two aren't important. Problem is, if I unplug the first one and unplug mine, then switch them around... Mine continues to not work, and the one my dad put in does work. IE: mines in the first one (light is now OFF) and my dads is in the second (Light on)

I have a feeling something could be messed up in the router, however I have completely reset it multiple times.

no its separate.

Just by looking at it, it has 3.0 on the left side, and Ubee on the right side.
Guessing Ubee is the name of the company that made it.

Also, the modems ethernet cable goes directly into a internet phone device (Again that my dad set up) then the internet phone device has an output port named 'home', going into the router with the port named 'internet'
